The November meeting of the Sun Lakes Democratic Club will be held on Monday, November 13, 2017, at 7:00 p.m. in the Navajo Room of Sun Lakes Country Club, 25601 E. Sun Lakes Blvd. N.
Our November meeting will feature one candidate for a State office in next year’s election and the East Valley leader of the NAACP.
January Contreras, Democrat, is running for Arizona Attorney General. Ms. Contreras has dedicated her career to protecting our most vulnerable communities in Arizona. As a Deputy County Attorney, Assistant Attorney General and Non-Profit Founder, January has always put the needs of the people over those of powerful special interests. Come hear her positions on issues relevant to the Attorney General’s office.
Roy Tatem lives in Chandler and is the President of the East Valley NAACP. Roy has a strong background in politics, having served on the Obama and Bernie Sanders campaigns, and has his own political consulting business helping candidates run for office. He will be updating us on issues like Black Lives Matter, the status of Confederate monuments in Arizona and other work of the NAACP.
The Sun Lakes Democratic Club collects non-perishable food items for Matthew’s Crossing Food Bank. Please bring your tax-deductible contributions to the drop-off area in the west parking lot from 6:30 to 7:00 p.m. Ask for a receipt. The club donated 66 pounds of food and $15.00 cash for September. The totals for the year, so far, are 1006.5 pounds of food and $442.00 in cash. We appreciate all you do.
Everyone is welcome to attend the Sun Lakes Democratic Club meeting, held the second Monday of the month. Light refreshments are served. For more information, call Dolly Loftin at 480-200-3322.
