The Computer Booters Club will suspend the weekly forums and general meetings for the summer. May’s general meeting will be the last presentation until we resume in September. We will still be sending out the weekly articles and holding the monthly Help Desk at 2 p.m. on the third Sunday of the month in the Cottonwood Computer Learning Center. You may bring your questions, mobile devices, or laptops to the help sessions.
On April 22 the Hamilton High School Robotics Team members demonstrated one of their robots at a Computer Booters meeting. Members of the Hamilton High Robotics Team are students at Hamilton High School in Chandler. The team was founded in 2001 and competes in competitions that require a high level of skill in the field of robotics. In their first year, the team went to Regionals in Southern California, winning the competition. Ever since its founding, the Hamilton High School’s Robotics Team has strived to be its best. Through hard work, dedication, and cooperation, the team has excelled. They have won several awards, and in 2024 the Hamilton Microbots won the Creativity Award sponsored by Rockwell Automation.
A Computer Booters member has been working with Linda Horton of the Low Vision Club to assist and supplement Linda’s work with a club member asking for more instruction on low vision software for a laptop with Windows 11 and an Android phone. Several useful products have been identified and installed during two work sessions.
