Calling All Knitwits and Bag Ladies

The SunBird Knitwits and Bag Ladies meet each Wednesday morning at 10 a.m. in the Hopi Room. We share advice and patterns, exchange yarn and needles, and generally have fun each week. The group also supports St. Vincent’s charities and makes hats, scarves, and lap robes for donation, so come and contribute your time, even if you don’t have a project going. The Bag Ladies are busy as a dedicated group of women creating sleeping mats for the homeless and other items using recycled plastic grocery bags, which are folded, cut, connected, balled, and crocheted. The finished products are donated or sold at craft fairs to raise funds for charity.

We need your bags!

Bring your used, clean, plastic shopping bags to the Hopi Room and leave them in the storage chest at the back of the room. Better yet, come and join us on Wednesday morning and volunteer for this incredible project. We can use more help. If you knit, crochet, or do other handwork, please join us to learn, share, and chat with other yarn lovers.
