Busy Month for the Kare Bears

The Second Hand Rose Fashion Show was a great success. All 275 tickets sold out the first day they were put on sale. Jill surprised the audience when she entered the ballroom as Carol Burnett and her “Went with the Wind” sketch, dressed in a curtain. The audience responded with laughs and cheers. And the models added to the event by showing how shopping at second-hand shops can be economical and stylish. Finally, thanks to our attendees who supported our 50/50 raffle. We sold so many tickets that we were able to give four $120 prizes.

The Kare Bear Fair on Feb. 3 was another success for our club. We continue to get more small businesses to purchase a space for the day. We had over 60 businesses participate. And thanks to all the people who donated more things for the White Elephant sale. We appreciate your support.

We want to say thank you to some of the people who are supporting the Kare Bears in other ways. Paula Russell paid for the doughnuts and pastries for both the December and February Fairs. Paula lives here in SunBird and works for Cactus Mountain Properties. Kitty Determan and her husband purchased the water for all the attendees at the Style Show. So a big thanks to both of them. And the Kare Bears have a mystery donor who handed us $100 to cover the cost of a new coffee pot and then another $50 for whatever. We are truly blessed.
