The bocce ball courts located at the intersection of Championship Drive and Kerby Farms Road are available for your use. The courts are available for your use daily from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. Equipment is located in the bench seat at the south side. The rules of the game are posted on the bulletin board or are easily found on the Internet if you want to study up. If you are new to the game, the Bocce Ball Club plays each Thursday morning at 9 a.m. Bocce ball is for everyone. No athletic ability required! We have folks playing with poor eyesight, artificial joints, bad backs, and two left feet. Join us to learn the game and enjoy the sport.
In January there will be some friendly competition. The 2022 Marathon will be bigger and better than ever. The marathon will run from mid-January through mid-March, and will have teams competing for cash prizes and the title of SunBird’s Best. Last year, the crazy situation with COVID kept us from having a marathon.
Watch for more announcements about the marathon in the December SunBird News. Each team that participates will play 9 or 10 games over the 10-week marathon. You are able to set up the days and times of your games to fit your own schedule. The top winning teams will play off in the championship which will be held the last week of March.
