The Arizona Rangers – Sun Lakes Company is proud to announce the results of its 2025 leadership elections. Please join us in congratulating our newly elected officers:
• Captain: Steve Broner
• Executive Officer: Larry Yates
• Internal Affairs: Rick Hustead
• Treasurer: Ken Ellsworth
In addition to the newly elected leadership, we also have the following captain-appointed positions:
• Chief Operations Officer: DeDeuc d’Antonoli
• Training Officer: Branson Lowman
• Quartermaster: Arthur Formoso
We’re especially excited to welcome Captain Steve Broner, a Navy veteran and dedicated Arizona resident, into his new leadership role after having served as the Company’s executive officer. With a deep background in military service, management, and community engagement, Captain Broner brings a wealth of experience and steady leadership to the Sun Lakes Company. A strong reflection of this dedication is that in 2024 Steve served more duty hours than any other Arizona Ranger in the entire state, by a significant margin.
Steve served 26 years in the United States Navy, with 14 years as an enlisted sailor and 12 as an officer. He served aboard four submarines, spanning two classes: the USS Florida, USS Topeka, USS Buffalo, and USS Jefferson City. His shore assignments included roles as Officer in Charge of the Advanced SEAL Delivery System (ASDS) at Naval Special Warfare Advanced Training Command in Hawaii and Electronics Material Officer at Submarine Support Center Bangor in Washington.
Since retiring from the Navy, Steve has worked in operations and leadership roles, including warehouse management, maintenance supervision, and business development for a regional plumbing company where he oversaw teams across Arizona and Las Vegas. He moved to Gilbert, Ariz., in 2016 and has called the state home ever since.
Originally from Bonney Lake, Wash., Steve joined the Navy to see the world, and while he jokes that 16 of his 26 years were spent just an hour from home, his service still took him across the globe to countries including Japan, Italy, Germany, Switzerland, Austria, Spain, Ghana, Gabon, Cameroon, and Angola.
In his own words:
“The Arizona Rangers serve a great community service, supporting local police departments, community events, and giving back to youth organizations. Our relationships with the Chandler Police Department and the Sun Lakes communities are among our highest priorities. We support Chandler PD with events like the Ostrich Festival, Tumbleweed Lighting, and local half marathons, and we provide patrols and security for numerous Sun Lakes concerts and events throughout the year.”
We extend our gratitude and sincere thanks to Captain Ron Burchett and the outgoing leadership team for their service as we look forward to a new chapter under Captain Broner’s guidance. The Sun Lakes Company remains committed to public safety, community involvement, and the Ranger mission of service above self.
