The Irish Club’s December meeting was held on Tuesday, December 2. There were 51 members present at the meeting and in total we have over 80 members this year.
Plans for the annual Christmas party were discussed and tickets for the party were purchased. The party was held on December 18 with cocktails at 5:00 p.m., dinner at 6:00 p.m., a gift exchange and dancing to the music of Jamal.
The principal of Hartford School attended the meeting and picked up the toys donated to the students by the members. She thanked the members for the gifts and stated that 96 percent of the students are in the poverty level; the gifts are very much needed and appreciated by the children.
It was decided that the Laughlin trip will be on February 17, 18 and 19 and we will again stay at the Riverside Casino/Hotel.
The Hale Theater outing will be on April 18 instead of in January. Margaret O’Brien is in charge of this event.
Linda Hearn volunteered to be in charge of the April Patio Party to be held on the first Tuesday in April.
The meeting was adjourned at 6:30 p.m. and was followed by pizza from Domino’s.
