New Adventures, a lifelong-learning program affiliated with Chandler-Gilbert Community College, provides a large variety of classes each of three semesters during the year. These classes occur in one convenient location with state-of-the-art technology and plenty of free parking. Membership offers several other advantages along with the classes. When someone joins the group, they also become eligible for a Chandler-Gilbert Community College Student ID card.
With that card, members are eligible to receive student prices and discounts at some area establishments and access to various community college services. At times, this student discount exceeds a senior discount. This pricing structure is true at both the Phoenix Art Museum and the Heard Museum.
The community college itself offers other benefits. Members can access Maricopa County Community College District’s (MCCCD) libraries, online services, and electronic resources and can receive student prices at any of the MCCCD bookstores on books, software, and other items. Members can go to the Coyote Fitness Center on the Pecos campus for $25 per semester for noncredit fitness. Student admissions are available at the Arnette Scott Ward Performing Art Center and for athletic events.
After becoming a member of New Adventures, there are a couple of steps to go through to receive a CGCC student ID card. First, go to the front desk at the Sun Lakes Center for your student number. This building is at 25105 S. Alma School Road, Sun Lakes, AZ. Next go to the Pecos Campus at 2626 E. Pecos Road in Chandler. Then, head for the Coyote Center with your student number and a photo ID to get your card.
