All local Southeast Valley women are invited to attend the monthly meeting of the AAUW Southeast Valley Branch (SEV) held on the third Monday of the month from 5:30 to 7 p.m. at the IronOaks clubhouse in the Bradford Room. On Jan. 19 a representative from Civic Engagement Beyond Voting (CEBV) will be our featured guest speaker. CEBV is a statewide, grassroots, nonpartisan organization that empowers Arizonans to actively engage with their state and local government.
Learn about Request to Speak (RTS): Weigh in on bills from the comfort of your couch! Arizona’s Request to Speak is an online tool that lets everyday citizens give Arizona state lawmakers our feedback on bills. It’s an easy way to get involved in state politics, stay informed on the bills that directly affect us, and provide feedback so our elected officials are more inclined to honor the wishes of us, their constituents. This training will answer all your questions and get you ready to participate in the Arizona legislative process.
Consider this a “save the date” announcement to mark your calendars for Saturday, March 21, from 4:30 to 6:30 p.m. for the always-fun and delicious AAUW Southeast Valley Branch annual Fundraiser Happy Hour!
