Cars have changed. So have traffic rules, driving conditions and the roads you travel every day. And most importantly, you!
Some drivers age 50-plus have never looked back since they got their first driver’s license, but even the most experienced drivers can benefit from brushing up on their driving skills.
By taking a driver safety course you’ll learn the current rules of the road, defensive driving techniques and how to operate your vehicle more safely in today’s increasingly challenging driving environment.
You’ll learn how you can manage and accommodate common age-related changes in your vision, hearing and reaction time.
The AARP Smart Driver Course is a four-hour classroom course. It is offered at the SunBird Clubhouse east Ballroom on November 14 from 12:30-4:30 p.m. Please register in advance with Lois Anderson (call 480-802-7635) or on the sign-up poster on the bulletin board.
AARP membership is not required to take the course and there are no tests to pass.
The classroom course costs only $15 for AARP members and $20 for a nonmember.
At the completion of the course you’ll receive a certificate that you present to your insurance agent for a possible reduction in your auto insurance premiums. Consult your insurance agent for details. Most companies offer the premium discount for the next three years.
