The SunBird Singers, under the direction of Pat Miller and Kim and Mike Hanson, after a successful Christmas concert, are back at work in preparation for their annual spring concert which will be held on March 7 and 8, 2018, at 7:00 p.m. in the SunBird clubhouse ballroom. Approximately 75 of your friends and neighbors started rehearsals on Monday, January 8. These rehearsals, two hours for the singers and one hour for the bell choir, continued and will continue weekly until the concert dates – a significant effort on the part of all participants.
The theme of this concert is “Rhythm of Life” and will feature a range of music from early American, such as “This Train” and “Shenandoah” to some more rhythmic selections, such as “Turn the World Around.” Performing in addition to the choir will be the SunBird Ensemble, remembered for their lively rendition of “Christmas … In About Three Minutes” at the Christmas concert, and the SunBird Bell Choir who again will play the Schulmerich Bells which are on loan from the Sun Lakes Baptist Church.
So, mark your calendars for either March 7 or 8, 2018, and come and enjoy great music presented by the SunBird Singers. As usual, SunBird Singers’ concerts are free; however, donations to defray the cost of music are always graciously accepted.
