Since Reiki has the energy of the Universe flowing through it (Universal life force energy), I believe Reiki’s only limitation is that of our mind.
Within each of us is that life force which is meant to flow freely. When we engage Reiki, it is guiding this energy to be of service to us.
In the Reiki Level I training, one is taught how to give Reiki to themselves and to others. Four attunements open these energy channels, allowing the recipient to be of service to the flow of energy through them to another and to themselves.
In the Reiki Level II training, one is taught distance healing and shown how to use three symbols to focus, guide and empower the energy. Students also learn how to expand their use of Reiki and to deepen that Reiki energy within them.
Did you know that you can send Reiki to a situation? It can be sent to an event in present time, in the future or in the past.
I have sent Reiki to myself to be received prior to giving a talk to a group. Sometimes I have “butterflies” in my stomach prior to speaking, but Reiki calms me. I’ve done it both ways, and I definitely prefer using Reiki.
When I was 12 years old and living in Alaska, I was involved in a tobogganing accident. We sailed off into the woods over stumps and crashed. I was carried back to the house and put to bed for a couple days because we were 350 miles from a hospital. This resulted in a partially-healed lower back. Exercise helps, but the stiffness never seems to completely leave me.
Recently, I sent Reiki to this incident. I felt the left side of my sacrum fill with warm energy, then flow down my left leg, to my left hip and over to the right. During this Reiki experience, I felt a real sense of being cared for and comforted. After it, I noticed the muscles easing, and there is no limit on the number of times I can send Reiki.
The potential for Reiki is immense. That is why it is our great pleasure to host the Reiki Circle every Tuesday morning at 9:30 in Room A-2 of the Cottonwood courtyard. There you can try Reiki to see how it may serve you. It’s open to all, and you need not be trained in Reiki to attend.
For Reiki classes, Lois is offering a Reiki Level I training on the weekend of December 2-3 from 10:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. in her home in Cottonwood. We practice giving and receiving Reiki throughout the weekend. For questions and details, please call Lois at 480-883-6699.
