The SunBird Singers, under the direction of Pat Miller and Mike and Kim Hanson, will present their annual Christmas concert on Wednesday and Thursday, December 6 and 7, 2017, at 7:00 p.m. in the SunBird Clubhouse ballroom.
The theme of this year’s concert is “There’s a Light a-Comin’.” The concert will feature the SunBird Singers’ popular Bell Choir which will open the concert with “Spotlight Fanfare” featuring the “Carol of the Bells” as its theme. The concert will feature several numbers presented by the whole chorus, including a new song called “Someday at Christmas.” A men’s chorus will present a selection that is the basis of the concert’s theme, and a ladies’ chorus will sing a rendition of the popular “Silver Bells.” Many of the familiar Christmas carols, as well as some non-traditional ones, will be woven throughout the music. Soloists will also be featured within some of the songs. As usual, there will be some audience participation in a singalong. Accompaniment for the concert will be provided by some of SunBird’s talented pianists and by some talented instrumentalists.
So mark your calendars for either December 6 or 7 and come and join the SunBird Singers as they present an overall message of joy and fun as we approach the Christmas season. As usual, the SunBird Singers’ concerts are free; however, donations at the door will be graciously accepted. The donations are used to help defray the cost of music.
Rehearsals for this concert started on October 16; however, if you are just arriving and would like to participate in the chorus, please call either Pat Miller at 480-707-3984 or Kim Hanson at 253-229-0453.
