Golfers – One big reminder: Now is the time to get your team listed in the SunBird Pro Shop for the fifth annual SunBird Open Golf Tournament. Only the first 36 teams will be eligible to play. Choose your foursome of players, collect $40 per person, and turn in your scorecard and dollars starting on November 1. The tournament is planned for Wednesday, December 3 with 8:00 a.m. check-in in the Ballroom. It is planned as a four-person scramble with gross and net winners, as well as KP’s and longest putt prizes.
The last four SunBird Opens earned almost $30,000 for golf course projects. The fourth Open’s funds were used to enlarge Hole No. 16 tee-box areas.
The committee is very proud of this project and we wish to thank our Golf Course Superintendent Rick Lantgen and his maintenance crew for all their hard work to complete this project.
Hole sponsors and door prizes for the fifth Open are now being collected by the committee – Gary Metzger, Jack Cooper, Jim Dolwick and George Richardson. Eileen Stroahman and Connie Dreyer will be coordinating these items and the SunBird Office is assisting in making the sponsor signs.
Again, be sure to turn in your scorecards and dollars to the Pro Shop so that your team will be eligible to play.
