The Korean War Veteran Association is open to all who served in Korea at any time. We are an association of veterans who want to help all veterans that find themselves in need. Whether hospitalized or homeless, we want to be there for them. We meet the fourth Tuesday of each month, except July and August, at the Sun Lakes Country Club Friendship room at 10:00 a.m. Our guest speaker on Tuesday, June 24 will be Mr. Billy Walker. William D. “Billy” Walker Jr. was born into an aviation family and soloed on his 16th birthday. Mr. Walker spent two decades with Frontier Airlines and has worked for the Airline Pilots Association, America West Airlines, and was a part of the JetBlue Airways start-up team. He is rated in numerous transport types and has flown more than 250 varieties of military and civilian aircraft. He was awarded the Wright Brothers Master Pilot Award by the FAA in May 2008 recognizing pilots who have conducted 50 or more consecutive years of safe flight operations. In 2011, Billy was inducted into the Arizona Aviation Hall of Fame. Mr. Walker currently flies a WWII Boeing model 75 “Stearman” as a member of the Arizona Antique Aircraft Association. The squadron flies in air shows around Arizona, Nevada and California. All guests are welcome and you can check us out on our website at www.kwvacc.org or contact Commander Doyle Porter at 602-540-7574. Remember, “Freedom is not free.”
