Iowa Party & Free Dance March 12
The whole community is invited to the Iowa free dance featuring the Thaddeus Rose Band in the Ballroom on March 12. Doors will open at 6:30 p.m. and the dance will be from 7:00-10:00 p.m. This is a celebration of the Iowans who were born in 1926 and 1936 as they are turning 90 and 80 this year – a birthday celebration for Lee Frecentese, Paullene Caraher and a few others (they didn’t want it advertised). You will have to come to see who they are! Come and join the fun!
You can buy drinks and have free delicious lemon cake with coffee or tea.
The Iowa group will celebrate this year by having a party before the dance. Meet and greet: 5:00 p.m.; dinner at 5:30 p.m.
No potluck this time – eating simply so we can dance afterwards.
We are having barbecue pork sliders (genuine Iowa pork) with the fixings. The cost is $3. All you have to do is bring your cheerful face and money for your drinks at the bar. There will also be coffee, tea, and cake.
There is a sign-up sheet in the Puzzle Room. You can pay the $3 at the door. Be sure to sign up before March 7 so we can buy enough food.
There is still time to join in to help. We will meet to set up in the Ballroom at 3:30 p.m. on March 12.
The Iowa people will have first dibs on the tables!
Michigan/Illinois – March 5
The second annual Michigan and Illinois state party will be held on Saturday, March 5 from 4:00-8:00 p.m. on the Clubhouse patio. Dinner will be served at 5:00 p.m. All Illinois and Michigan residents, former residents and anyone with ties to these two great states are invited to attend.
Thanks to everyone’s generous donations at last year’s party, pizza will be provided by the party committee. To supplement the pizza, attendees with last names starting with A through O are asked to bring an appetizer. Those whose last names begin with P through Z are asked to bring fruit or dessert to pass. Coffee, plates, utensils, cups and napkins will be provided. Everyone should bring their drink of choice. Tickets for a 50/50 drawing will also be sold. Donations to help offset the cost of food for next year’s party scheduled for Saturday, March 4, 2017 will be graciously accepted.
To help the committee finalize their plans for the party, there will be a sign-up sheet on the board in the Puzzle Room.
For further information or to register for the party, you may call Marge Smith at 480-883-1622 or Janice Fleming at 480-883-6915. Illinois residents may contact Joan Freund 480-225-3184. Please mark your calendar and plan to attend.
