New participants are welcome. When new people come more direction is given. It was so easy to follow along. You do not have to be limber or in shape. Slapping or tapping the body is done to get the blood and energy moving. We also do a lot of joint rotations. We also do a lot of deep breathing exercises. This practice is based on ancient Asian Qigong principles.
The stretching will still be done but more attention will be on getting back strength in the leg and hip muscles. If you are not an athlete you probably have weak hips, quadriceps and hamstrings. If so, your body is not as well balanced. Most modern people are weak in those areas because many of our activities are done sitting. It is important to listen to your body, be hydrated and learn to relax. Wear loose comfortable clothing. This is a good way to start your day or end your day. You will feel energized. You will sleep better. We end class with QiGong meditative practice. Come a bit early to help set up the room. Bring a mat. There are some mats in the room.
