Lions Kick Off a New Year of Service

The SunBird Lions have resumed their regular meeting schedule, beginning with a kickoff meeting on Sept. 15. Members received updates on upcoming events and reviewed the proposed charity gifts for 2027.

After the business meeting, members enjoyed a kickoff meal of hot dogs, chips, cookies, and a choice of lemonade or iced tea. They also shared highlights from their summers and enjoyed time to reconnect socially.

The SunBird Lions meet on the third Tuesday of each month at 4:30 p.m. in the Lakeview Room. If you are curious about what the world’s largest service organization does, please stop by, learn more, and meet some friendly members.

New Members Join the SunBird Lions

In August, Lions from the southern half of the state gathered at Sun Lakes United Methodist Church to learn about Lions projects at the international and district levels. During the event, the SunBird Lions Club also inducted six new members. They are Ken Steinwadel, Dennis Wick, Susan Brown, Judy Wohler, Treva Christenson, Gail Howe, and sponsor Kimberly Ley.

Please congratulate our newest members and ask them what Lions are all about. The club meets on the third Tuesday of each month at 4:30 p.m. in the Lakeview Room. If you are interested in learning more, stop by one of our regular meetings.
