Welcome back to the first dance of the 38th season of the Sun Lakes Sunday Dance Club in the San Tan Ballroom. Our new president, Kelly Haworth, invites you to enjoy a stellar dance season, featuring our new 11-piece house band, Havin’ Fun. You’ll love our new look and new hours.
The best news: Admission is still $10 (cash at the door). Food service starts at 4 p.m. (cash or charge). Enjoy music and dancing from 4:30 to 7 p.m.
Think back to the day when supper clubs dotted the highways across America. A place where you could go and your bartender would mix you the perfect Manhattan or Martini (shaken not stirred). The cuisine was prepared by professional chefs. A band of professional musicians played and the wooden dance floor was large enough to accommodate dancers of every skill level. They had all this in an elegant atmosphere for dancers and spectators alike. Those were the days!
Today, the San Tan Ballroom at Cottonwood is transformed into one of these “adult playgrounds” of yesterday. The well-maintained dance floor has enough room for everyone, from the amateur Freds & Gingers who glide around the floor to space in the middle for those who just want to sway with their best gal or new-found friend.
All are welcome: singles, couples, dancers and wannabe dancers. You don’t have to be a Sun Lakes resident. Join us for an evening of socializing with fun and fascinating people who are energetic and looking to have a good time. Enjoy a cool libation, a delicious nosh, a scrumptious meal, and/or a tantalizing dessert, all while Havin’ Fun plays for your dancing and listening pleasure. It’s a great night with a good vibe.
We are very excited about our new house band, Havin’ Fun, with some of the Valley’s most experienced and talented musicians. Having eleven professionals allows them to bring a polished sound to our ballroom for traditional dances like Waltz, Foxtrot, Rumba and Cha Cha. Things get lively with East Coast Swing, West Coast Swing, Night Club Two Step, Country Waltz, Two Step and Line Dancing.
Dress is business casual or country club attire. No shorts, t-shirts, or flip flops. For ladies, long or short resort dresses or slacks are always appropriate: dress to impress (yourself).
Our website, SunLakes-SundayDanceClub.com has details for the entire season.
