March means Spring Training, and we are fortunate to host two baseball experts on the afternoon of Wednesday, March 4. The co-authors of the just-published book Rickwood: How America’s Oldest Ballpark Forged Baseball’s Legends will be on hand to do a presentation on the history of the ballparks where Negro League games were played, including Birmingham’s Rickwood Field. Joe Mock, webmaster of BaseballParks.com and frequent contributor to USA Today Sports, and renowned baseball researcher Tim Whitt will speak about their new book and will have copies for sale if you’d like to have them sign a copy for you (for more info on the book, see baseballparks.com/2025/12/04/book-release-announcement. The authors will be in the Lakeview Room at the SunBird clubhouse from 2 to 4:30 p.m. on March 4. Baseball fans, mark your calendars!
