Members of Unity Church of Sun Lakes recently donated new teddy bears to Valley Bloom, a local nonprofit. These cute, lovable bears were blessed at one of our Sunday services. Valley Bloom forwards them to Chandler Police and Fire and hospitals to be given to children they interact with in crisis situations.
The board members then looked back at 2025 and the contributions the church has made to the community. We are very proud of the fact that we are a tithing church. Our cash donations have gone to Rover’s Rest Stop, World Central Kitchen, Sun Lakes Greater Community Foundation, A New Leaf, Arizona Friends of Foster Care, Valley Bloom, AZCEND, and Central Arizona Shelter Services.
In addition to supporting the community financially, we have fun while supporting nonprofits with our time and talent. During 2025, we bought supplies and made 100 sack lunches for the residents of East Valley Men’s Shelter. For several years we have volunteered for the Down Syndrome Network, assisting at both their spring picnic and their holiday Wonderland party. We donated personal gifts and stocking stuffers to the 20 young adults living at Hope Tech this past December.
We are planning a busy and fun-filled 2026. If you would like to join us for a Sunday service, we meet at 10 a.m. in the Ceramics Room at the Sun Lakes clubhouse. Just follow the signs to a room full of loving people. You can visit our website at www.unityofsunlakes.org.
