Dr. Honora Norton, RCSL Public Image Chair

Since 2017, the Rotary Club of Sun Lakes (RCSL) has been supporting the Veteran’s Yuletide 4 Heroes program through RCSL’s partnership with the Patriot Guard Riders organization. In 2025 RCSL Yuletide 4 Heroes contributions totaled $1,635.00. The gift was comprised of $500 from RCSL and $250 from RCSL Corporate member Stephen Phair, as well as toys, food, cash, gift cards, handmade quilts, and other gifts totaling $885.

Over the past nine years, more than 1,650 families have been served, including MCSCP and National Guard; 30 service animals—food and goodies; 135 single veterans transitioning into housing; and yearly support of VA State Housing residents and veterans in Phoenix and Prescott. 2025 was the first year that gift cards for food were donated. Several Christmas parties were hosted by the Patriot Guard Riders, including parties at assisted living facilities. Overflow toys are given to Childhelp, helping kids. Project Lead Gary Kay and Patriot Guard Riders are appreciative of all the donations.
