In recognition of February being National Cancer Prevention Month, the Lady 18ers had their “Pink Lady” game and general meeting on Feb. 3. The turnout was great, and a great time was had by all!
At the meeting, they raised $74 for the American Cancer Society through a 50/50 draw. The winners of the draw were Mel Smith, who won twice, and Cheryl Moore.
Kim Mishko and her committee hosted a Home and Home at SunBird Golf Course on Feb. 21 with players from Springfield, Palo Verde, and, of course, our league. This was the Fourth Annual Home and Home Tournament. The theme was “travel,” with players dressing up to represent a chosen country or just travel in general. They also had a 50/50 draw, with half the pot going to benefit the American Cancer Society.
The season is moving along quickly, with many more exciting events on the calendar, including the Club Championship on March 3 and 10 and closing the season on March 26 with a game of golf with the Men’s League, followed by a lunch and awards. It’s never too late to join our league!
