It’s been a great start this season for the Kare Bears. Our November speaker from Rovers Rest Stop brought two adorable pups, which were available for adoption. A few ladies brought old towels for them, as they tend to need a lot. If you are looking for a new best friend, check out Rovers Rest Stop on Facebook.
The ladies also showed extreme generosity by bringing non-perishable food items for St. Mary’s Food Bank. The ladies of Kare Bears are so amazing!
December was very busy, as the Kare Bear Fair had more than 99 tables reserved from vendors. The vendors were so generous giving raffle items, and we are truly grateful for the Sunny Quilters group who have made beautiful table runners to give away at each fair.
Our holiday luncheon was on Dec. 11, and it was a wonderful success. Julie and Espy did a great job with our lunch, and the gift exchange was really fun.
We are more than excited to have Randy Linder and the Creedence Revelation for our annual concert on March 3. He is so popular around the Valley that we have scheduled two concerts. There will be a matinee at 3 p.m. and an evening performance at 7 p.m. We are truly hoping to sell out both shows. His band was the first concert in SunBird in 2017 and was also sponsored by the Kare Bears. Both concerts sold out the first week of sales. Randy is from Washington State and plays all around the world. His uncanny resemblance to John Fogerty is amazing, and his musical talents are out of this world.
Tickets will be on sale Monday through Friday from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. the weeks of Jan. 12 and 19. Sales will be down by the Puzzle Room and across from the elevator. Don’t miss this incredible concert, and help support the Kare Bears!
We will be launching our new fundraiser, which will take the place of the fashion show in February. Be on the lookout for ticket sales in the hallway near the Puzzle Room. For only $5 you get a ticket for a chance to win $500! Two opportunities will be drawn in March. We are excited for the possibility of raising a good amount of money for the charities we support.
