SunBird Lions Bingo

SunBird Lions Bingo is in full swing! As usual, their season runs through April on the first and third Friday of the month. Ticket sales begin at 5:30 p.m., and the first game begins at 6:30 p.m. There are 15 games nightly. They hope you will join them!

Are you ready for some football? Get out of the house and into the game! Bring your friends, grab a bite to eat, enjoy ice-cold beverages, and come cheer on your favorite team. It’s Sunday Funday! There will be Sports Boards, Football Trivia, Raffle Tickets, and lots of fun! Be sure to wear your favorite team apparel! We hope to see you there!

Chandler PD Talks Social Security Fraud: Part 2 of a 4-Part Series

Wednesday, Jan. 7, Ballroom, 10 a.m.

A Social Security fraud investigator, in conjunction with the Chandler Police Department, will present Social Security Fraud, Social Security Scams, Scammer Tactics, Prevention, and Reporting Resources, along with an opportunity for questions and answers. With many Social Security scams currently happening, we highly recommend that you attend this presentation. We will also have the Chandler PD present Title Theft on Feb. 11 and the National Bank of Arizona present Banking Fraud on Feb. 26.

Bean Bag Baseball

Bean Bag Baseball returns Jan. 7 and continues through April! Join us at 4 p.m. in the ballroom for our “winter” series and for a fun night of baseball. Friday Fun Bingo

Join us for this awesome activity! This is not your everyday Bingo! Come socialize, enjoy great music, and have fun! We’ll be playing five games, only $1 per game! You can play all five games or just one, play one card or as many as you’d like, the choice is yours! All proceeds from Bingo will be paid out directly to members. Friday Fun Bingo is for SunBird members and authorized guests only. Please be sure to bring your SunBird ID for entry. If you do not have an ID, please stop by the HOA office to get one. Due to the popularity of this fun event and in order to accommodate SunBird members, the number of guests SunBird members may bring is limited to two (2) guests per household. SunBird members, along with their guests, must all be together when entering the ballroom. Additionally, the SunBird Maintenance Team has set up the ballroom for this event. Please do not take it upon yourself to set up any additional tables and chairs. Have fun, and good luck!

American Red Cross Blood Drive

Save a Life, Give Blood! The American Red Cross and the NFL are partnering this January during National Blood Donor Month to invite football fans and donors to join our lifesaving team and score big for patients in need. To thank donors for helping during the critical post-holiday time, all who come to give blood, platelets, or AB Elite plasma Jan. 1-25 will automatically be entered for a chance to win a trip for two to Super Bowl LX in the San Francisco Bay Area! The need for blood is constant, and only volunteer donors can fulfill that need for patients in our community. Nationwide, someone needs a unit of blood every 2 to 3 seconds, and most of us will need blood in our lifetime. Join us in the Horizon Room as local artist Kaui Wilson helps to create a masterful painting on canvas while sipping, laughing, and socializing. She will provide step-by-step instruction to those who need very specific direction and take you through your masterpiece from start to finish in a series of small and simple (but very detailed) steps. This will be a fun and entertaining art class. No experience is necessary! All art supplies and instruction are provided, and we’ll include one glass of wine! The SunBird Chili Cookoff is set for Wednesday, Jan. 21, beginning at 5 p.m. in the ballroom. Join the SunBird Line Dancers, led by Suzanne Lipke, every Saturday in the ballroom from 9 to 10 a.m. and 10 to 11 a.m. (Absolute Beginners began in October). This is a fun, social exercise class focusing on beginner-level line dances to great country and contemporary music! The class will learn together and will have input on the dance and music choices. Everyone is welcome! There is no charge to participate in the class. If you’ve ever wanted to learn line dancing but thought you couldn’t, now is the time. Please join us!
