Art at the Lakes Show and Sale will be held on March 7 from 9:00 a.m.-2:00 p.m. (Rain date will be March 14)
The show will be around beautiful Cottonwood Lake on Brentwood Drive in Sun Lakes. There will be art, food, music and a raffle.
We need fine art artists to apply before February 10! We welcome all creative artists throughout the Valley to the show. Paintings in all mediums, pottery, sculpture, handmade jewelry, gourd art and photography are acceptable. The fee to enter the show will be $40 to be used to cover the show’s expenses and the cost of an eight foot table and two chairs for each artist. Artists may share a table but each will be responsible for the fee. We have applications available now in the Oakwood and Sun Lakes art rooms and the Cottonwood/Palo Verde Homeowners Services office at 25219 E. J. Robson Boulevard, Sun Lakes and at [email protected].
The event is a benefit for the Sun Lakes Firefighters’ Emergency Relief Fund (SLERF) and the 100 Club of Arizona (www.100club.org). SLERF and the 100 Club not only help first responders and their families, but also to anyone in the community who has any type of misfortune, are in need and need assistance after an accident or fire and public safety personnel, respectively. The Sun Lakes firefighters will be grilling burgers and hot dogs and also have donuts, coffee and sodas available during the show. In the past, about $8,000 was raised for the Relief Fund.
Please call to donate raffle items! Raffle items will include, but are not limited to, artistic items, gift baskets, gift certificates and dinners out. Please call Diane Hitt at 480-802-7080 if you wish to be included in the raffle prizes.
Please call to volunteer! Volunteers are needed and would be appreciated to help on the day of the show for the entire day or for just a few hours; and we would also appreciate volunteers to solicit businesses for donations in the weeks prior to the show. Call Marylouise Widmaier at 970-518-5811 if you wish to help out.
If you have any questions please contact Beverly Walter at [email protected] or call her at 480-802-4680.
A group of talented musicians from Sun Lakes will be at the show playing bluegrass, country and many popular tunes.
