Vocalist Jesse Washington will present his Sixth Annual Pre-Thanksgiving Vocal Musicale Concert on Sunday, Nov. 10, at 2 p.m. This year’s Musicale will be a “Reunion,” featuring Jesse and some of his former special guests. The Musicale will include gospel, contemporary gospel, classical, blues, R & B, showtunes, and patriotic songs for your entertainment pleasure.
Jesse has prior experience in community theater, light opera, singing in churches, and he was a two-year member of the San Francisco Opera Company. Most recently, he has appeared as a participant in the City of Chandler Spice of Life Shows, the Scottsdale Senior Extravaganza, the Herberger Theatre Pop-Up Concert, and various events in Sun Lakes, SunBird, Trilogy, Maricopa, and other venues in East and West Valley locations.
Special guests include Sharon Friendly, 2019 vocalist and a previous Mrs. Senior Arizona winner. Sharon does a variety of music including sing-along, showtunes, World War I and World War II music, country, Broadway, and classical tunes.
Mary Anne Asciutto, 2022 guest vocalist. She has studied musical theater and performing arts at Mesa Community College and held principal roles in Annie, Carnival, and Social Security. Mary Anne has also performed with the Mesa Encore Theatre Company and is a headliner at Singing Pandas in Chandler.
Sam Rogers, “The Blues Man,” 2023 guest performer. Sam grew up in Detroit and developed a love for music at an early age by singing a variety of music in the area. He has performed with various bands, along with serving on many community boards and committees in the area. He is currently the leader of a local band called the Blues Expedition Band and can be heard singing the blues throughout the Valley.
The Musicale will take place in Sun Lakes at the IronOaks Country Club Banquet Room, which is located at 24218 S. Oakwood Drive (Riggs Road and EJ Robson Boulevard).
Purchasing tickets in advance is highly recommended. Advance tickets cost $14. Ticket price at the door will cost $18. Tickets can be purchased by calling 510-691-8227 or in the IronOaks Country Club lobby from 1 to 4:30 p.m. on Friday, Nov. 1 and 8.
