With the holidays approaching, we can once again look to Reiki for support. Reiki is a gentle yet powerful healing force that assists our bodies and minds in maintaining balance and serenity. It can be very seductive to attempt to have a perfect holiday gathering and it is easy to push yourself beyond what supports your wellbeing.
The first of the five Reiki Principles by which we live our lives is, Just for today, I choose Peace. Knowing that peace is a choice, and knowing that you can sit awhile, can take time for a cup of tea and slow down, puts you back in control. Although on one level we do know we are in charge of our lives. On another level, when we have high expectations and great desires to create that awesome gathering, we sometimes forget and do too much.
If you knew Reiki, I’d remind you that when you sit a bit you could also put hands on yourself to allow this soothing energy to fill you and revitalize you. If you knew Reiki, you could send this energy to the situation of the gathering asking Reiki’s support in having everything come together with ease. If you knew Reiki, you could surround your expected guests with Reiki, that there be harmony, love and peace in their hearts. If you knew Reiki, you’d know that once Reiki is with you, it is with you forever more. It can be called upon for anything and everything. Reiki can be the best buddy you ever had.
If you’d like to become a Reiki practitioner, a first level class is being offered December 6 and 7 from 10:00 a.m.–5:00 p.m. each day. During this 12-hour class you will be taught to share this energy with your family, friends, pets, plants and yourself. Four attunements will open you to allow the Reiki energy to flow through you.
