The Garden Club held its annual Christmas luncheon after the Dec. 9 meeting. Forty-one members enjoyed a fun holiday trivia game and a delicious lunch prepared by the Horizon Room.
At our Jan. 13 meeting, we planned our Feb. 3 field trip to the 20th Annual Wuertz Farm Gourd Festival in Casa Grande. We also welcomed speaker Mary Shelor, one of the ladies who weaves mats for the homeless from donated plastic bags. Did you know you can drop off bags in the Navajo Room at any time? It takes 1,000 bags to make the six-foot mats, which are donated to St. Vincent de Paul.
Our 9 a.m. Feb. 10 meeting will include a Valentine’s Tea.
In March, our meeting will be held a week earlier than normal due to our annual Home and Garden Tour on Sunday, March 5. Tickets can be purchased at our meeting or in the clubhouse two weeks prior to the event.
If you are curious about the Garden Club, you can come as a guest at any time or join our group and, if you’d like, we will assign a buddy to you to help you feel welcomed.
