Our Christmas Potluck was superb. The dishes were very good, and it was well attended. Our January meeting was highlighted by a German Trivia Contest, and the winner received a nice little prize.
For our February meeting, we are planning to show a video on Germany. Since Feb. 22 is Ash Wednesday, we will also celebrate Fasching (Mardi Gras). We encourage members to come in costume. During Fasching, in Germany, people dress in costumes for festivities before the start of Lent. A panel of judges will pick the three best costumes, and the club members will decide the best costume. The winner will receive a prize.
Remember that our April meeting is a Patio Party and Potluck. The club will provide chicken and potato salad.
Our club is open to interested SunBird residents. We meet the fourth Thursday of the month in the Lakeview Room, at 6 p.m. Dues are $10 per year.
