Art Club News

November continued to bring returning and new members to our Art Club. With the addition of members, the energy builds and new ideas for upcoming events and excursions continue to be introduced.

This year’s Challenge is Birds, which opens up such an array of diverse specimens and locales in which to present them! It is always so interesting and fun to bring them to share and get them arranged in the showcase by the library to share with SunBird residents and guests. Our showcase also continues to rotate the works of individual members, and it is always worth spending some time studying the wonderful creations of our members.

We will be electing new and returning officers, as well as setting up ideas and dates for excursions around the Valley and, hopefully, we can work in some outdoor sites to visit and paint.

Another anticipated event is our annual Art Show and Sale in March. This year we will be opening it up to other SunBird organizations to display and sell their individual items. More details will be forthcoming.

As always, our membership welcomes new artists who would like to join us. We meet Thursday mornings in the Hopi Room, and encourage you to stop in and see what each of us is working on. We wish you all a Merry Christmas!
