IRS Scam Alert

The Internal Revenue Service (IRS) has reported a large number of complaints of scammers posing as IRS agents calling by telephone aggressively demanding immediate tax payment. The scammers sometimes already have a good amount of personal information about you when they call to make them seem more official. The telephone calls originate from a Washington, DC area code and the call back telephone number identifies itself as the “IRS Investigations Division.” If the IRS needs to contact you, they will contact you through a letter.
