While SunBird Lions Club is following the rules and regulations during the pandemic, we have continued to help those in need.
In November and December, we collected toys for the children at Hartford School.
Several Lions collected foods and hygiene items for the AZCEND Food Pantry.
Lion Carol Zittel and her volunteers made sure our flags were proudly displayed for the holidays. Lion Carol has 625 flags to distribute.
Lion Carol maintains each flag to be sure there are no tears and possible fading from our beautiful sun. If you notice that a flag needs to be replaced or you would like to have a flag put on your property, please contact Lion Carol at 480-883-0958. You may want to give a year-round gift for birthday, anniversary, or a new home by giving the gift of a flag (please ask for permission) to honor a special person, for a donation of $40 to the SunBird Lions. Everyone loves to see our flags wave so proudly.
Medical supplies, such as walkers, canes, wheelchairs, commode chairs, etc. are available free of charge for the amount of time you may need. You can contact Lion Gail Holland at 480-883-7310. Everything is sanitized. Lion Gail also accepts equipment that you would like to donate.
Receptacles are placed around the clubhouse, pool area, and post office for your soda cans.
If you have gently-used eyeglasses, hearing aids, empty eyeglass frames, or cases, they can be dropped off at the SunBird clubhouse or contact Lion Fred Garmenson at 480-219-0348 for arrangements for them to be picked up.
The fundraiser “Tee Up For Childhood Cancer” will be held on Saturday, Feb. 6, 2021. Look for information as to signing up or to make a donation.
