Dakota & Nebraska roundup
Mark your calendars now for the Dakota and Nebraska reunion on Saturday, March 9, 2019 from 4 – 6:30 pm on the SunBird Patio! Bring your friends!
The potluck-on-the-patio fun will begin with social hour at 4 pm (BYOB). Potluck is at 4:30 pm. Live music with Bob Bergman (of Fargo) and The Boys will again entertain us.
Delicious Dakota and Nebraska home cooking is your admission, with water and dinnerware provided. Last name A through H, please bring a hot dish for eight; last name I through P, please bring a dessert for eight; and last name Q through Z, please bring a salad for eight.
SunBird residents who have lived in the Dakotas or Nebraska, along with their guests and Dakota/Nebraska friends, are invited. The event ticket is $5; and will be available beginning in February, $6 the day of the picnic.

Iowa
The Iowa State Fair is “Moo-ving” to SunBird. The Butter Cow saw her shadow and predicted a great day for the 2019 Iowa Party, Tuesday, March 5, on the clubhouse patio.
Use this checklist to be first in line when the gates open at 4:00 p.m.:
1. Signed up on the Iowa Party clipboard in the Puzzle Room
2. Checked my recipes for the dish I will bring
3. Selected my beverage to bring
4. Raffle item by the door so I won’t forget
5. Signed up my guests
6. Table setting for all in my party
7. Money for the 50/50

Michigan/Illinois
The fifth annual Michigan and Illinois State Party will be held on Saturday, March 16, 2019, from 4:00 to 8:00 p.m. on the Clubhouse Patio. Other arrangements have been made in case of inclement weather. All Illinois and Michigan residents, former residents and anyone with ties to these two great states is invited to attend.
Thanks to everyone’s generous donations at last year’s party, subs will be provided by the party committee this year. To supplement the subs, attendees with last names starting with A through O are asked to bring fruit, veggies or dessert to pass. Those whose last names begin with P through Z are asked to bring an appetizer. Coffee, plates, utensils, cups and napkins will be provided. Everyone should bring their drink of choice. Donations to help offset the cost of food for next year’s party scheduled for Saturday, March 28, 2020, will be graciously accepted.
To help the committee finalize their plans for the party, there will be a sign-up sheet on the board in the Puzzle Room.

Minnesota
Minnesotans and friends from Sun Lakes and nearby areas are all invited to the annual Minnesota Patio Party held at the Palo Verde Country Club in Sun Lakes. Cost of $20 per person includes a buffet dinner. Come join the fun and win some raffle prizes. Event will be from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m., Saturday, March 23. Please contact us by March 17, as we need a headcount for dinners.

Ohio/Pennsylvania/Indiana
Calling all Ohio, Pennsylvania and Indiana SunBird folks. Our Patio Party is Friday, March 8, from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. Burgers will be $3 per person. We need to know if you want a burger when you RSVP, and each person is asked to bring a dish to share. When you RSVP to your state’s chairman, you can let them know your number attending and also whether you will be bringing a salad, side dish like deviled eggs or macaroni and cheese, etc., or a dessert. Bring your own drink. (Alcohol is permitted on the patio.) Also bring your own table service: plates, napkins, silverware. Condiments for the burgers will be provided.
