More than 70 attended Iowa party

More than 70 SunBird residents with Iowa “roots” gathered for the Iowa State Fair West Party on Tuesday, March 13, which was held on the SunBird patio. Food, Fun and Fellowship was had by all and during the evening, many raffle prizes were awarded. Among some of the favorites were a number of CDs by Iowa songster Dennis Caraher, t-shirts and items from Iowa State University and University of Iowa, along with bottles of Iowa barbecue sauce and Iowa wine, dinner tickets to the SunBird Horizon Room and gift card from SunBird Golf Club.
Next year, we are planning an Iowa Mardi Gras Party to be held on Shrove Tuesday, March 5, 2019. This will be held on the SunBird patio again from 4:00 to 8:00 p.m. Please plan to join us. Anyone with Iowa “roots” or friends of Iowa residents are welcome to attend. A sign-up sheet will be placed in the SunBird Library next February to register your plans to attend. Thank you to all who attended the Nebraska State Dinner on February 24. It was a great time to enjoy first-rate food, good music and the camaraderie of fellow Nebraskans. The next Nebraska State Dinner will be Saturday, February 23, 2019. Also, the Nebraska Club will be hosting a Nebraska Football Game Watch Party vs. Michigan State on November 17, 2018, at the Saguaro Room at Cottonwood Bar and Grill. Game watch will start one hour before game time.
