News from Cheers Singles Club

Ann Kisner

The birthday party on Sept. 29, was a huge success, as usual. Marjean did a wonderful job of planning this event. We celebrated those who had a birthday in the months of July, August, and September. We celebrate every three months. Dinner is always delicious. After dinner, we have some kind of entertainment, like card games, music, or sometimes a skit by some of the members.

The holidays are already here. Our Halloween party was a great success, as usual. This is always a fun party. We have a very creative group of people. It’s amazing how many witches are out there and return on their brooms for our party.

We were happy to have tables at the Open Houses at Sun Lakes Country Club in Cottonwood and Oakwood. We hope you were able to stop by and get acquainted with some of our members and get more information about our club. If you missed visiting with us, stop by our social hour at poolside in Oakwood any Thursday at 4 p.m. Patricia and Lee will be happy to greet you.

Please remember that Cheers members are still helping to support Hamilton and Chandler High School students who are homeless or living in poverty. Donations are accepted at our Thursday social hour. Contact Sally Wegryn at 203-470-0733 or Sue Agnew at 480-491-3774 for more information.

If you are a single out there living in Sun Lakes, SunBird, Springfield, or Solara, you are welcome to join us for happy hour at the Poolside Café in Oakwood on Thursdays at 4 p.m. We would love to have you as a member. For more information, call Ginny Marr at 390-5145 or Richard Lewin at 525-3630.
