Desert Navy News

Richard Volpe

As we approach the second month of the new year, we would like to thank you all, once again, for your patience. Our staff is constantly monitoring the medical issues and concerns pertaining to the current virus situation, and any future decisions will be based on the potential risks to our membership, as well as the others with whom we normally would be in contact. We presently, like many other clubs, remain in a “holding pattern,” and be assured that all our membership will be notified in a timely manner if there are any changes regarding this current situation.

Normally, our meetings are held at the SunBird Community Center on the lower level in the Lakeview Room. The meetings typically start at 11 a.m. on the third Friday of each month during the months of September through May. All Navy, Marine, Coast Guard, and Merchant Marine veterans are always welcome. During these tough times, several club members do get to meet up with each other for lunch, which would typically be scheduled for Tuesdays of each week at 2 p.m. For additional information pertaining to this or any other club-related matters, please feel free to contact Rich Volpe. He can be reached at 480-802-2532, and I’m sure he’d love to hear from you. Have a great day. Stay safe, and stay healthy.
