It’s only $5 to join! We are looking for new members for 2019-20. Are you a snowbird? We would love to have you join us, as our regular meetings are October through March. We have so much fun putting events together. You can volunteer to help with memorials for people in our community who have passed away; volunteer to help at the Kare Bear Fairs, which are the first Saturday in November, December, February and March; or simply make donations to the various charities we support.

We have two major fundraising events next year: an innovative Style Show that will be held on Friday, Jan. 31, and an Elvis concert on Tuesday, Feb, 18. Our organization gives about one-third of our funds raised back to the homeowners association (HOA) and the Green-Up Committee. The rest goes to local charities that we have thoroughly researched, such as Neighbors Who Care, various food banks, My Sister’s Place, House of Refuge, Boots in the House, and many more! What a nice way to give back to the community in which we live.

Our first meeting is Wednesday, Oct. 16, at 1 p.m. in the east end of the ballroom. At this meeting, we will be making plans for the entire year and collecting items for Boots in the House. This incredible organization, made up completely of volunteers, collects items to mail to our troops overseas and stateside. The boxes are stuffed so tightly that there are enough items to be shared with the entire unit. At the beginning of the meeting, we will be having candidates speak to us who are running for a position on the HOA board.

Come join us and see if it’s something you’d like to do! We would love to have you.

Note: The Elvis concert tickets will go on sale Thursday, Jan. 2, 2020!
