As we move through these trying times of COVID-19, we realize just how precious health can be! To the club members of both clubs, be advised that we will closely monitor the potential danger of having club meetings. At this point, it is advisable that we do not start any club meetings in September. We shall continue to watch guidelines coming from the governor’s office, as well as our health department, and plan accordingly.
Recently, this writer learned of the passing of Herb Zielke. Herb and Jo moved back to Illinois two years ago. Herb and Jo were members of both clubs, and Herb was the treasurer of the Italian Club for about 20+ years. He was greatly missed when he and Jo decided to return to Illinois. We wish the Zielke family well. We also lost Elio Zanonni this past spring. He, too, belonged to both clubs.
Let us all resolve to stay safe and healthy. Please wear masks when out and about shopping or going to visit others, and social distance as is feasible.
