The 2020 Bocce Ball Marathon is complete. The competition was amazing, with SunBird residents showing skills they didn’t even know they possessed. From the second week of January through mid-March, 78 SunBird residents participated in almost 1000 games of bocce. The marathon participants were divided into four leagues, and each competing team played each team on their league roster. Cash prizes will be awarded for the top five places in each league. Competition ended March 15. The play-off event has been postponed until fall due to the need to close the courts. Congratulations to all!
Our top champions for each league were the Oakmont Rollers team of Bruce Maach and Joe Taravella, team Rocky Road with Richard and Marilyn Huska, Michiganders Bill Eppinga and Sally Bertino, and the team Double Trouble with Layne and Megan Varney. Congratulations to all the teams for a fantastic marathon.
