The Pro Shop Hours have changed and we will be open from 7:00 a.m.-5:00 p.m. Tee times will start at 8:00 a.m. You can make tee times by calling in, stopping by the shop or going online at www.Sunbirdgolf.com under the Tee Times section.
On Sundays the course opens at 8:00 a.m. for tee times all day with twilight starting at noon. Shotgun starts will continue at 8:00 a.m. Monday through Saturday, Tuesday will have a second shotgun start at noon. The rest of the days will have tee times starting at noon. We have a few nine hole groups that have started, the Gentlemen’s Club on Wednesdays at noon and Afternoon Couples on Fridays at noon.
February brought a few tournaments; we had the Greens Keeper Tournament on the 6th with a total of 84 players. The Bandit Triple Play Tournament on the 17th with approximately 100 players and the Kare Bears Tournament on the 27th. We appreciate all the participants in these tournaments that help out the clubs, course and community projects that benefit SunBird Golf Resort. Upcoming tournaments for March include the Girls Volleyball Scramble on the 12th and the Canadian Tournament on the 20th. Tournament information is available at the Pro Shop.
We have a couple events for the SunBird Golf Clubs in March that spectators are welcome to participate in. These are the Couples Shootouts on the 4th and 18th where you can come out and cheer on the players and watch some good head to head golf matches. The Men’s/Women’s Scramble is on March 31 sponsored by the Men’s League.
We are always looking at ways to improve the golf course and any suggestions are considered. There are comment cards available in the Pro Shop for everyone to fill out. If you would like to take a tour of the golf course that is on Friday, March 18 at 4:00 p.m., signup at the Pro Shop or just meet along the road by the driving range.
We will continue to run golf specials on the website and our nine hole walking rate after 3:00 p.m. has been very popular. For those of you interested in taking lessons we have been having weekly clinics and our teaching Pros, Dennis Alan and Brian Crawford, are available for private lessons also.
