Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 8053 Bingo remains the center for community support to our veterans and their families. Playing in VFW’s weekly game raises funds for the Post’s veteran support programs. The game also enables the sharing of unique local projects that will support veterans’ urgent needs.

Kerry Schuster is an energetic citizen doing what is needed to help our veterans. Kerry, representing American Angels/Operation Helping Hands (www.operationhelpinghand-americanangels.com), is again recruiting those who knit and/or crochet items that support physical needs and to warm the heart and soul of our veterans. Last winter, SunBird and Sun Lakes community members knitted items that were distributed to veterans. With cooler weather approaching, your support is again needed. To get involved, please contact Kerry Schuster at 480-209-2960, or e-mail at [email protected].

VFW weekly Bingo game is open to all, ages 18 years and older and held every Wednesday at the Sun Lakes Country Club. Sales start at 6:00 p.m. and play begins promptly at 7:00 p.m. For as little as $7 you can play 19 bingo games with prizes ranging from $50 to $900 (depending on sales volume).

VFW Bingo and other Post programs raises over $35,000 annually to support all former and current military veterans and their families as well as promote patriotism and conduct democracy education in local schools.

Without community participation in the VFW Bingo, critical veterans’ needs could remain unmet. Special thanks to all players!
