SunBird Roadrunners Club prepares for annual golf tournament

The SunBird Roadrunners are again sponsoring their Spring Golf Tournament which will be held on Saturday, March 21 at the SunBird Golf Club. The format will be a four person scramble which will be divided into three flights based on team handicaps. Cash prizes will be awarded in each flight and will be based on net scores. Side prizes will also be awarded for closest-to-the-pin and longest putt for both men and women as well as in the magic circle. Individual mulligans will be available for purchase and there will be a 50/50 raffle as well as door prizes.

The tournament will kick off at 7:00 a.m. on the Clubhouse patio with player check in and coffee and donuts. Actual play will begin at 8:00 a.m. with a shotgun start. Lunch and awards will follow play on the clubhouse patio.

The entry fee for this tournament is $40 per player. To enter, please turn in to the Pro Shop a scorecard with the names of the team members and their handicaps along with a check made out to the Roadrunners. The deadline for entry is Saturday, March 14.

All net proceeds, after tournament expenses and prizes, will go to the golf course for special projects and to cover nominal green fees. Over the past five years, these proceeds have averaged about $3,900. Of this amount, an average of about $1,200 has gone for special projects.
