SunBird Men’s Golf Association plans first meeting November 4

Norm Ott

With summer slowly being replaced by the cooler temperatures of fall, the SunBird Men’s Golf Association is looking forward to the start of the 2014-2015 golf season. The first business meeting of the season will be called to order by President Jack Cooper at 9:00 a.m. on Tuesday, November 4 in the Clubhouse Ballroom. Subsequent business meetings are held on the first Tuesday of each month, same time and place. While many of our golfers may not have returned to SunBird at the time of this article, those that are in the area who are members or who would like to find out more about the association are invited and encouraged to attend this first meeting.

The purpose of the association is to promote, encourage and advance men’s golf in the SunBird community. Nominal membership dues allow participation in the Arizona Golf Association/GHIN handicap system, participation in the weekly men’s day tournaments and in special events that may be scheduled. Players of all skill levels are welcome and encouraged to join. Information about the association, its events and schedules may be found on the bulletin board located outside of the Pro Shop. Membership questions may be directed to Membership and Handicap Chairman Fred Garmeson at 895-9363.
