February already? Maybe our weather will start to warm up now?
I was reading the paper the other day, and it actually showed our temperature history in the low 80s and high 70s for January and February of 2012. It’s been a bit cooler this year. However, that has not stopped us from having fun and golfing!
We held both the Ladies Net and Gross Shoot-Out’s in January, had new members join and bundled up for some chilly, yet fun golf rounds. Please remember to check out either the Ladies Golf Board and/or the website for results.
Please welcome our newest member LaDonna McClure! Thank you to Lore Schaefer for being her “golf buddy” and helping LaDonna get accustomed to our club.
We are getting closer to the end of our 2016/2017 SunBird ladies golf season, and that means we will be electing new officers/committee members. We have selected a nominating committee and will begin the process of looking for new officers. Please give some thought to volunteering some of your time to help keep our club fun and vibrant. The pay is GREAT! We have many different areas, so no matter what your interest or skill, we can use your help. From fun social stuff to computer or accounting, we have it all. Just give me a call or email me (Tammy Bachofner); I am in the ladies’ club book). Don’t be shy—it’s a great way to get know more of your fellow golfers and have fun, too.
This past month, I had the privilege of golfing with June Yates as she played her last round with our ladies club. June has decided to join the 9ers. I am sure she will receive a warm welcome and have just as much fun. Thanks for your many years of playing with the 18ers. Wishing you the best with all your golf, no matter whom you are golfing with.
