April was the last of our regular business meetings for the year. Our next meeting will be on November 10, 2017, at 9:00 a.m. in the east end of the ballroom. We hope any gardeners or would-be desert gardeners will mark their calendars before heading to cooler climates for the summer.
We would like to take this time to offer thanks – thanks to the members for their support by attending meetings and helping with many committees that make our club work so well. Thanks to those who served this past year as officers or Committee Chairman. It truly takes everyone to make our Garden Club great.
Thanks also to all of SunBird for supporting our moneymaking ventures. Thanks for filling the ballroom to listen to Marshall Trimble reminisce about Arizona’s colorful history. It was an interesting and entertaining evening, and our club appreciates those who came out and supported us. Thanks, too, to all those who purchased tickets for our annual House and Garden Tour. We thank the homeowners for letting us show their houses, as well as those who toured them. It also was a fun day. All monies received from these special events will be used to help beautify SunBird as we keep our club going forward.
Next year, will see some changes in our business meetings and our club’s focus. Watch for more information in future news articles. 2017-2018 promises to be interesting as we try new programs and reach out to more people to learn about desert gardening so we can keep working to keep the SunBird Community beautiful.
