St. Steven’s luncheon highlights

The St. Steven’s Ladies Guild Christmas Luncheon which was held at the Oakwood Country Club on December 11, 2017, was lovely. Judy Hester and Florence Oxman were at the door to receive our tickets and the gifts we were to exchange. As we entered the room, it was a sight to behold with the decorated Christmas tree, the Madonna table, large live poinsettias at each table and women mingling and visiting with one another.

After taking our seats, we were welcomed by our Vice President Pam Bianchi who invited Jacquie Peterson, our president, to come up and say a few words. Our Pastor, Fr. Eric Houseknecht, led us in prayer and gave a blessing for our food. The luncheon consisted of chicken mushroom crepes, mixed vegetables and a roll. For dessert, we received a generous serving of chocolate banana bread pudding.

Fr. Eric gave us a presentation on the historical background of the Blessed Mother’s apparitions. Several members shared stories about their special Madonna which they brought and had placed on the Madonna table. Winnie Collins provided each member present with a special gift which she had embellished, and Judy Hester organized the gift exchange. A drawing was held for the beautiful live poinsettias. This lovely event was enjoyed and appreciated by each of the members.
