Our annual spring luncheon will be held on Wednesday, April 8, at noon in the Navajo Room of the Sun Lakes Country Club, 25601 N. Sun Lakes Blvd. The cost to members is $10, and the cost to a non-member guest is $15. If you were not able to register at the March meeting, you may do so by contacting Judy Waltz at 480-895-3441 by April 2.
Our Sew-N-Sews members have been busy with recent classes, such as Cork Cross Body Purse, Beginning Quilting, Chenille Vest/Jacket, Applique Pillow Wraps, and Fantasizing Jacket. Our members who attend classes have high praise for their projects, and as a side benefit, they meet and get acquainted with other members. No matter how experienced a member is, they say they always learn a new technique or method. Our classes are reserved for members only, so become a member and join in the fun.
The April luncheon is a great opportunity to get to know other members and check out upcoming classes and show off your projects during Show and Tell. The stash table overflows with items that are no longer needed in a member’s “resource center” and are up for adoption to a new home. This month promises to have even more goodies, since our “snowbird” members tend to clean out before heading back to their summer homes.
As always, remember to wear your Sew-N-Sews name badge in order to be eligible for the door prize drawings. Be sure to seek out Mary Droke who will be the one in the fancy hat passing out the door prize tickets.
Sew-N-Sews meets monthly, September through May, on the second Wednesday in the Navajo Room at Sun Lakes Country Club. Our normal meeting time is 1 p.m. unless we are having a luncheon (as we are this month) when we start at noon.
