Patrol report

Thomas Catri, Chief of Patrol

Gated Communities. As the number of gated communities in America continues to grow, so does the importance of home and neighborhood security. Keeping a gated community secure is the responsibility of all residents, not just the gates. If you enjoy the benefit of living in a gated community, you should practice safe home and neighborhood security habits as if you didn’t. Therefore, all residents should take all reasonable steps to secure your residence and personal property as if there were no Patrol and gate services provided by the Homeowners Association.

Beware of door-to-door solicitors. If a solicitor comes to your door unannounced offering their services to repair, paint your home, fix your roof or reduce your TV bill, call the Patrol immediately. Help us run them out of SunBird. Some solicitors will try to intimidate and pressure you to use their services. Remember … if someone offers a reduced price, you’re more than likely to get a reduced product.

Have you ever thought about adding driving safety as a health goal? A poor decision, such as one of the most common moving violations, running a stop sign, could possibly kill or severely injure you, a loved one or some other innocent person. Accidents do not happen – they are caused. Every time you get behind the wheel, you accept responsibility for your actions. Obeying SunBird’s traffic control devices and rules of the road will ensure the safety of you, your passengers and other motorists, pedestrians and bicyclists on our roadways. Accidents bring tears; safety  brings cheers.
