The Sunday Night Dance Club season has started with great dances on September 17 and October 15.

We invite all SunBird residents to join us for an evening of ballroom dancing to live music on:

Sunday, November 19 – Music by DK Orchestra

Sunday, December 17 – Music by Rich Howard

Sunday, January 21 – Music by Swing Memories

Sunday, February 18 – Music by DK Orchestra (formal attire)

Sunday, March 18 – Music by Memories

Sunday, April 15 – Music by Route 66

With over 25% of our club being new members since the season began, our November dance would be a great way to meet new friends and enjoy an evening of dancing.

Adding some Country and Line Dances, along with West Coast Swings and a Polka to our ballroom dancing repertoire, has drawn a lot of interest and has added to the dance cards of new and current dancers.

Our Sunday Dance Club is now an “Open Club,” and membership is not required to come and enjoy a great evening. Membership does have its benefits, but we recognize the changing times and everyone likes to come and go as they please.

Our dances are held in the San Tan Ballroom at Cottonwood Country Club. Doors open at 6:00 p.m.; the band plays from 6:30 to 9:30 p.m. Non-member tickets are $20 per couple. A cash bar is available.

Want to improve your dancing? Mary Lou Kaye, our club’s resident dance instructor, will help start our season with her special Social Dance Class. This one-hour class is not geared toward a single dance, but helps any novice dancer to dance to a greater variety of dances. Also, prior to each dance, we have an optional dance class for those who like to “tune-up” a bit before the dance. It will be taught by Mary Lou Kaye, our resident dance instructor, at the Dance Studio room at the Oakwood Complex. It is located in the first building when you turn into the Oakwood complex off E J Robson Blvd. The class charge is $5 and begins at 4:45 p.m. for one hour.

Please make your reservations via email to [email protected] or call ahead using the information at our website, www.SunLakes-SundayDanceClub.com. It will help us ensure enough snacks and seating are available.

Our Sunday Dance Club is open to everyone, so please come and enjoy a great evening with us.

Please note: Dress is business club casual (ties optional), but absolutely no shorts, t-shirts or flip flops. Thank you.
